Hello! I am a freshman from Schulenburg, Texas and plan to major in civil engineering with a structural focus. With civil engineering, I hope to positively influence the environment, as well as the structures people use everyday; roads, bridges, and buildings. I became interested in Mines at the beginning of my senior year in high school when I was invited to apply for the Harvey scholarship. When I visited campus, I fell in love with the quaintness of Golden and the close-knit, supportive community of students at Mines. Growing up on a farm, I greatly enjoy the outdoors and love that the mountains are on one side of Golden and Denver is on the other! In receiving the generous Harvey Scholarship, I am able to attend Mines and pursue my goal of improving the lives of others through engineering.
