Mines was a school that wasn’t even on my radar until early in my senior year. I received some emails from Mines, did a little research and discovered that Mines has an impressive reputation. I applied knowing that I would have a hard time attending Mines having to pay out-of-state tuition.  Fortunately for me, I was contacted and invited to apply the Harvey Scholarship. When I was awarded the scholarship, I knew that Mines was right for me. The opportunity to leave home to stay in beautiful Colorado was too good to pass up. I’m so happy that I decided to accept the scholarship. I feel I’m free to do what I’m passionate about, thanks to the scholarship. I look forward to the next few years here at Mines, and the opportunities it will bring me later in life.
