Miranda Sibell

Hello! My name is Miranda Sibell and I am from Hibbing, Minnesota. I have always been interested in science and math, but I didn’t know until I got an email from Mines that I wanted to pursue an engineering degree. When I first visited campus, I immediately fell in love. No college I had toured felt like home except for Mines and I couldn’t see myself attending another school. While at Mines, I plan on majoring in chemical engineering with a minor in biomedical engineering. With this degree I will continue my education, and hopefully become a professor so I can inspire future generations as well as conduct research. The Harvey Scholars program has allowed me to attend the Colorado School of Mines, because without it the cost was too high for my family to afford. I am eternally grateful for the doorways this scholarship and the Harvey family have opened for me. As I begin my journey at Mines, I will be keeping my studies on the front-burner, joining many activities, and hopefully learning how to downhill ski. I am honored to have been selected as a Harvey Scholar and to contribute to this wonderful group.
