If you listen to my parents, I came to Mines because I played with far too many Legos as a kid, and they just might be right. Ever since I was a first grader, I knew that I wanted to be an engineer, and with the incredible support of the Harvey’s, that is turning into a reality. I’m now here at Mines studying mechanical engineering in the hopes of one day working on robotics. I came to Mines from up north in Butte, Montana looking for a new experience and I definitely found it. The classes are tougher, the clubs are nerdier (awesomer), and the people here are incredible. Mines is large enough that you can constantly meet new people but small enough that there is a strong sense of community on campus, which has been invaluable to me as an out of state student. For the first two years, just about everyone takes similar classes which means that there are always many friendly faces at late-night study parties and everyone’s willing to help with test frustrations. The new experiences and knowledge I have gained here already have been incredible and I can’t wait for more.
