I discovered Mines as a high school senior when I was researching Colorado colleges and universities. Mines caught my eye when I learned of its focus on math and science, which I already liked. After a short tour, I thought that it would be a good fit for me for several reasons including the brilliant minds I would be surrounded by and the opportunities to stick with my outdoor hobbies. As a student, I have had more fun than I thought possible. The curriculum is challenging, but interesting and there is always help available if needed. I have met a lot of friends in different classes, clubs and events on campus that have a variety of interests ranging from visiting downtown Denver to fly-fishing up Clear Creek. Golden has made for a great home and I am thoroughly pleased with my decision to come to Mines.
