Graduating from Mines was one of the proudest moments of my life. Mines taught me discipline and the value of hard work. It also taught me how to have fun and not sweat the small stuff. Fortunately, with the help of the Harvey Scholarship program, I was able to study abroad in Budapest, Hungary for the fall semester of my junior year. During my time in Budapest I traveled every other weekend, seeing parts of Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, and Italy. Living in a different country for six months changed my life for the better. I grew immensely because my perspective grew immensely, and I could not have done it without the Harvey’s. The Harvey’s instilled in me a desire to travel. Since graduating, I have traveled to South Africa and Thailand and I hope to see many more places and cultures. Currently, I work as a consultant in the energy industry and I am looking forward to what the universe has in store.
