Omar Rascon

Hello! My name is Omar Rascon and I am from Thornton, Colorado. Being a native to Colorado and considered a “math kid” throughout school, my head was always filled with people’s expectations of me, to one day attend the School of Mines. In the summer of 2018, on a school visit, I finally caved to the expectation when I fell in love with the small campus size and the surrounding terrain. I thank the Harvey family for enabling me to attend Mines and overcoming the steep prices of tuition. Being from the small suburb that is Thornton I have learned to value community and promote paying it forward in my own life in the form of volunteerism. On my own time, I love to do anything related to baseball, playing video games with my younger brother, going out with my family, and expanding my worldview through travel.
