I am a native to Colorado and have lived the majority of my life in Parker. I grew up knowing about Colorado School of Mines and frequently visited the campus to wander the geology museum. I have loved math and science my whole life. When I found that engineering was a great fit with who I am and what I desire in a job, I instantly knew that I wanted to go to Mines. I plan on majoring in Mechanical engineering and minoring in energy specifically renewables. It has been amazing to be a part of this scholarship program and get to know the family. Thank you, Hugh and Michelle, for providing me with this opportunity to get to know others who love to pay it forward and to continue to pay it forward. I currently try to help out with a local ministry, Bread of Life, by picking up food from grocery stores that will later be cooked and served to homeless in Denver or given to struggling families. I also love to make blankets for Project Linus which gives them to children who have to spent the night in a hospital. I am the financial manager for Mines Solar Decathlon Africa team: Inter House Team. We will be building a solar powered house in Ben Guerri, Morocco which is an hour out of Marrakech. I am also on the Mines Tiny House group where we are still in the process of building a roughly 200 sq. ft. house. Outside of school, you can usually find me hiking, fishing or relaxing under the sun.
