My name is Elijah Paiz and I am from Denver, Colorado. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” is a Bible verse that truly has brought me to where I am today and one that will carry me through all of life’s experiences. Throughout my life, school has always been a place I could be myself as I’ve always had a deep seated love for learning. This love for learning is clearly expressed by the entire community at Mines, and I’m excited to surround myself with like-minded individuals. Outside of school, I enjoy being outdoors, traveling, watching football, exercising, and spending time in the Bible and at church. The Harvey Scholarship has given me an amazing pathway to attend a beautiful university where so many doors can be opened. I truly am so grateful for this opportunity and cannot wait to pay it forward.
