Hi everyone, my name is Alison Nguyen and I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado! Growing up I was always fascinated with the healthcare industry, but knew that I didn’t want to pursue a career of being a doctor or a nurse. As I became older, my interests in healthcare started to focus more on the pharmaceutical side and how to make it more accessible and affordable. With this goal in mind, I knew that pursuing a chemical engineering degree with a specialty in biological processes at Mines would carve a direct path to my dream job. Not only that, but as a first-generation college student, this degree will also emphasize how nothing is impossible or unreachable. Outside of my academic interests, I love to spend my time baking, reading, and going on sunset walks with my family. Thanks to the generosity of the Harveys, I will be able to chase after my dream degree without any financial worries and I have been provided a support system that I know I can count on!
