I am a senior in petroleum egineering and I currently study at Texas A&M. I was a Harvey Scholar at Mines during my freshmen and sophomore years and transferred to Texas A&M midway through my junior year. My experiences at Colorado School of Mines have been a crucial part in getting me to where I am today. I had to learn how to work hard in school and manage my time wisely. I also made connections that led to my first internship with BHP Billiton in Arkansas. The same connections helped me get other internships in Houston, Gillette and Oklahoma City, where I will be working this summer. Through the Harvey Scholarship I got hands-on experience paying it forward to the community with a diverse group of people. Paying it forward is something I continue to do in my new environment in Texas by volunteering with Cru and hosting dinners and events at my house. My aspiration is to own property on a ranch and be a caregiver for foster children. I am forever thankful for the Colorado School of Mines and the Harvey Scholars for the irreplaceable training and influence that they have provided.
