I grew up in Parker, Colorado, and my dad is a general contractor. Throughout my childhood, I have spent time on construction sites, I would frequently go with my dad to see how the structures he designed were built. Upon graduating from Ponderosa High School, I wanted to use my proficiency in math and physics to engineer buildings. This desire is what has driven me to obtain a civil engineering degree with a structural engineering focus.

In the future, I would be interested in working for the Colorado Department of Transportation. The highway system in Colorado has always fascinated me and I would love to be a part of the advancement of Colorado’s infrastructure. Ideally, I would work on bridge projects. The process of connecting a road from one side of a valley to the other side has always been of great interest to me. A second career path that interests me is providing structural engineering for buildings. I have aspired to do that ever since I was a young child and would see my dad submit his plans for approval to a structural engineer before construction could begin.
