From Dallas, I was mostly unaware of Mines’ reputation, but the Harvey community made me want to spend four years in Golden. Coming to Mines, I did not know what to expect, but I found a family of supportive friends, classmates, and teachers who have the same mindset of saying yes to new opportunities. Although that desire to be involved manifests itself for each student uniquely, Mines students, faculty, and alumni all seem to share the same fire for helping others. In my experience, Mines students, especially Harvey scholars, can always find a way to inspire the people around them. In addition being in the Harvey program, I have been involved with the Sigma Kappa,  Panhellenic Council, and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). I am also play lots of intramural sports and enjoy being outdoors.
