Although I applied to a few out of state colleges, I knew in my heart that I wanted to stay in Colorado for my college experience. Mines has been a great learning experience for me, both because of the challenging academics and the things that I’ve learned about myself along the way. I have met so many different people here and the memories I’ve made with friends are unforgettable. Not to mention, Colorado is a beautiful place and I’m thankful to live in Golden where I have access to both the mountains and places like Boulder and Denver. Receiving the Harvey Scholarship increased my excitement about coming to Mines and it has already impacted my life in so many ways. I cannot wait to see how the values instilled in every Harvey Scholar will continue to help me grow throughout my life after Mines. Mines has helped provide countless opportunities for me already, and I know that my decision to come here will keep benefiting me into the future.
