Hello! I will be a freshman at Mines this in Fall of 2020, and I couldn’t be more excited! In high school I was a captain of the wrestling team, a math tutor for two and a half years, and in my free time I have enjoyed teaching myself Portuguese. I was originally drawn to Mines because my entire family lives in Colorado so I was ecstatic to find a school that matches my personality and goals without having to move far away. I am very grateful for the opportunity that the Harvey scholarship has granted me to make Mines my home and be surrounded by a passionate group of people. I hope someday to use my education to teach the less fortunate who can’t afford the luxury of private tutoring and top schools. Most of all I am excited to be surrounded by a group of driven people where I can learn more about what it means to Pay it Forward.
