I have lived in Las Vegas, Nevada for all of my life and I have always loved math, science, and exploring the world around me. Ever since I was little, I was passionate about animals. From insects to whales, I knew that I wanted to help protect them and their environment. I spent ten years at a Montessori school where I found my love of learning. The first time I toured Mines, I found a group of like-minded people who were as passionate about learning and helping the world as I was. Throughout my life, I have had amazing individual friends, but I have never really felt like a part of a larger group. During the interview process, talking with the current Harvey scholars, I felt like I had finally found my group of people. The Harvey scholarship has given me the opportunity to pursue my passions at an incredible school with enthusiastic teachers and students without having financial worries. I am so excited to explore all of the extraordinary opportunities this scholarship has given me and to get to know this amazing group of people.
