I grew up in Golden, Colorado, and started taking math classes at the Colorado School of Mines after school my senior year of high school. It was then that I fell in love with the campus, the environment and the community. The people here are inspired to achieve great things and encourage those around them along the way. I got my undergraduate degree in both metallurgical and materials engineering and chemistry, both with bio specialties. I am now working on my Master’s degree in materials science. This campus is filled with so many opportunities and resources that are only available at few other universities. I have been involved in clubs ranging from our Mine Rescue teams to Keramos, a professional ceramics society; whatever your passion, you can pursue it at Mines. The Colorado School of Mines attracts a unique group of individuals who enjoy learning and working toward a better future. The Harvey Scholarship Program enhances my experience here, opening up another world of opportunities, for which I am truly grateful.
