Growing up as an Air Force brat, I lived all over the U.S. before settling in Colorado Springs and falling in love with the area. When I moved to Alabama my senior year of high school, I realized how much I wanted to return to Colorado and attend Mines. So, when I received the Harvey Scholarship, I was ecstatic for the opportunity to live in Golden. Although Mines was challenging, I absolutely loved attending the university. There are very few colleges where you can take engineering classes in the morning, ski in the afternoon, and explore downtown Denver at night. The Harvey Scholarship alone has given me opportunities beyond my wildest dreams. For example, during my time at Mines, I was fortunate enough to study abroad in South Africa, which was truly a life changing experience. It has been an incredible privilege to be a part of the Harvey community, especially because of its dedication to service, leadership and excellence. I received a B.S. in civil engineering from Mines in 2018, and I am currently designing storm water related projects in the Denver Metro area, where I live with my lovely wife Kelly and my even lovelier dog Everly.
