Originally from Plano, Texas, I decided on Mines due to its size, focus on engineering and its proximity to the mountains. In short, it was the perfect school of me. Deciding I didn’t want to leave Mines after my graduation in May of 2018, I decided to continue my education at Mines. I am a graduate student in the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department, studying the deformation behavior of Multiple Principle Element Alloys, in order to improve their toughness and blast resistance for defense applications. During my time as a student at Mines, I have been involved in a number of materials related clubs and teams, including the TMS Bladesmithing team, who placed third at the last national competition, and the CSM Materials Bowl team, who are the reigning champions.
