Hello! I grew up in Dayton, Ohio, and moved to Colorado Springs with the Air Force when I was 12. Before moving to Colorado, I’d never heard of the School of Mines, but once I knew of its prestige, competitiveness, and collective passion for success, I knew it was somewhere I could thrive. When I learned of the opportunities available through the Harvey Scholarship, I was hooked. The opportunity to be a part such a tight-knit and supportive community was highly compelling, and the Harveys’ philosophy of paying it forward was something I knew I wanted to incorporate into my life and career. Currently, I’m pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree here at Mines and going into the aerospace field. It’s such a privilege to be here at Mines and have the support of so many people. Here, we understand that both engineering and learning are a group effort, and success is rarely achieved on one’s own. I hope to do my part to contribute to the Mines community and pay it forward for future generations of engineers to come to Mines and experience the same quality and diversity I have.
