My family moved to Colorado from Parma, Italy when I was four. Since then, Colorado has become a very special place to me. I love to spend time outdoors. The Rocky Mountains are only a short drive away from Golden and so I’ve been able to spend a lot of my time adventuring in them. Outside of Colorado, the Harvey Scholarship has also helped me to pursue my passion of travelling. The Harvey Travel and Enrichment Grants allowed me to spend a semester in Madrid, Spain which really helped me to expand my worldview. I was able to visit my family in Italy twice, explore lots of Spain, and also visit France, Hungary and Austria. Now, as a senior completing my Chemical and Biochemical Engineering Degree, I am seeing how my education can really make a difference in the world. Being a part of the Harvey Scholar group has provided me with continuous inspiration as I see the many different ways my fellow scholars have worked to “pay it forward. I am incredibly grateful to my fellow scholars and Hugh and Michelle for making my Mines experience so great!
