Hello! I have lived in Keller, Texas for my whole life, so the move to Colorado this year has been a welcome change in scenery. In high school I was very involved in band (I can play 9 instruments), I was captain of the solar car team, and outside of school I spent most of my time rock climbing. Currently I am in the Adventure Learning Community (ALC) on campus and spend most of my time outside of class camping, climbing, and hiking through the mountains. The beautiful location and campus, reputation, and focus on undergraduate education made Mines really stand out among other colleges. Without the Harvey scholarship, I would not be able to have attended Mines. I am so grateful for the opportunities that the Harvey’s have given me; not only the chance to attend Mines, but also to travel and study abroad. I feel so fortunate to be in this position, and plan to pay it forward during my time here, and in the future in any way I can. I am currently studying Electrical Engineering with the goal of working in the space industry. This past summer I worked as an Electrical Engineering intern at Lockheed Martin. Seeing the incredible advancements and applications of technology has inspired me to push the bounds of what we can achieve here on Earth and out in the frontier of space. We are the Mars generation, and I can’t imagine passing up the opportunity to help contribute to that effort. I know my time here at Mines will prepare me for anything I want to do in life, not just Engineering.
