My name is Christian Burroughs and I am from Portland, Oregon. I have always been curious about how things work, especially cars, and have felt that engineering would be the best career for me. I first heard of Mines after watching a review of a car built by a student at the school and decided to visit soon after. Once on campus, I fell in love with the school. Being from Portland I appreciated the natural beauty of Colorado and the opportunities to snowboard while the school itself blew me away. The staff, students, and facilities were the best I had seen and I quickly became aware of the school’s excellent reputation. Mines was already my first choice for college, and the opportunity to be a Harvey Scholar made the decision easy. I am so thankful for this wonderful opportunity and cannot wait to take part in this amazing group!
