Looking back at my time at Mines as a senior, the opportunities I have found here have been nothing short of amazing. I have been able to study geophysics at one of the best programs in the world. I have been part of the McBride Honors Program and through that program gotten internship opportunities, travel experience and been able to tour the CIA (which I still cannot believe happened). I have taken on leadership roles in the Harvey Scholars Program, in my Greek house, and through several professional organizations on campus all while balancing a couple of jobs and research experience at Golden’s very own branch of the USGS. Best of all, I have been able to spend a semester abroad at the University of Leeds in England. My time at Mines has not been easy and has in fact been very challenging at some times, but it has been worth it. Without the help of the Harvey’s, my experience at Mines would not have been the same. The Harvey’s and the Harvey Scholars are inspiring and some of the most genuine people I have ever met in my entire life and the best part of my Mines experience has been sharing it with them!
