Howdy! My name is Lucas Baum, and I am from the piney woods and rolling hills of East Texas. Ever since I was a LEGO-obsessed kid, I knew I wanted to be an engineer (partly because I thought it meant I would get to build Legos all day). Currently, I am studying Civil Engineering and plan to earn a minor in Humanitarian Engineering. In doing so, I hope I can equip myself with the tools needed to reduce inequity in developing nations by improving access to clean water and education. If everything works out, I plan to pay forward this incredible blessing of the Harvey scholarship by living as a missional engineer upon graduating from Mines.
