Hello! I am a freshman from Middleton, Wisconsin. For as long as I can remember, the great outdoors has been a huge part of my life. I have not decided what field of engineering I will major in, but I do know I want to help preserve and protect our planet and natural spaces. I also am considering getting my teaching degree while attending Mines. When I started to look into colleges, I wanted a school that would allow me to continue to play rugby, study engineering, and be challenged as a student. When I visited Mines the winter of my senior year, I found everything I was looking for and things I didn’t even realize I wanted. I fell in love with Mines dedication to growing their students as engineers and people who will someday change the world for the better. As a first-generation college student from a low-income family, the price tag stood in the way of me and my dream school. The Harvey Scholarship has made affording Mine a reality. Thank you to the Harveys for allowing me to attend my dream school and giving me the stepping stones to start helping the world on a greater scale.
