I’m from Carson City, Nevada, and for as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to get involved with engineering and the environment. From the moment I stepped on to campus, I fell in love with Mines. I’m someone who very much believes in the vibe of a school. When I got to Mines, it felt like all the puzzle pieces of the college search were falling into place. I never thought I would be able to attend such an incredible school due to financial reasons, but the Harvey’s have made my dream possible through this scholarship. They have given me so much more than just tuition. They’ve given me a group of people who are just as passionate about life, academics, and having fun as I am. They have given me the opportunity to get involved and begin to pay it forward myself, and they have given me a chance to be something greater. I’m currently involved with Club Volleyball, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Student Advocates Against Violence and for Education (SAAVE), Undergraduate Student Government (USG), and environmental research through the Research Experience for Undergraduates for Environmental Engineers (REU-EE).
