Howdy, I’m Miles and I avidly believe that anything is possible with enough hard work. Society convinces everyone else of the alternative: “You can’t be the president, you won’t fly to the moon, you will never be any more important than what you are now.” But for me, these words never got to me. I still think that I can do anything and everything that I want. For right now, I am focused on making my own business. I want to take the empty words of “I want to make the world a better place” into a meaningful statement that I act upon. The Harvey Pay it Forward Scholarship makes this especially possible. Instead of having to go into the best-paying job to deal with student loans and college debt, I can put my time and energy towards my business and the impact that I have on society. I hope to learn the skills I need to succeed here at Mines and I know that no matter what, things will work out well for me.
